Transparent rules for our taxi services

1. Scope

Scope of these terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to all transport services of bambergtaxi, owner Harald Kersten, König-Konrad-Str. 4, 96049 Bamberg. They govern the contractual relationship between the passenger and our taxi company.

All taxi rides within Bamberg and surrounding areas
Airport transfers and long-distance rides
Group rides and event services
Medical rides and transport for people with disabilities
Courier and messenger rides
24/7 emergency service

Supplementary provisions

In addition, statutory provisions apply, in particular the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG), the Ordinance on the Operation of Motor Vehicle Companies in Passenger Transport (BOKraft) and the local taxi tariff regulations of the City of Bamberg.

2. Conclusion of contract

Booking and confirmation

The transport contract is concluded when we accept the transport order. Bookings can be made via:

Advance bookings

Advance bookings are confirmed by us via phone, email or SMS. An advance booking is binding once we have confirmed it. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance, especially for airport transfers and peak times.

Immediate rides

For immediate rides (spontaneous booking), the contract is concluded by boarding the taxi.

3. Services and prices

Transport service

We undertake to transport the passenger properly from the specified pickup address to the desired destination. Transport is carried out with suitable, roadworthy and clean vehicles by qualified and reliable drivers.

Cars for up to 4 passengers
Large taxis for up to 8 passengers
Accessible vehicles on request
Child seats on pre-order (free of charge)
Luggage transport within vehicle capacity

Pricing

Prices are based on the current taxi tariff regulations of the City of Bamberg. The fare consists of:

Base fee (starting price)
Per-kilometer price according to the taximeter
Time-based price for waiting times and slow driving
Surcharges (e.g., night rides, Sundays/holidays, large vehicle requirement)
Additional services (luggage assistance, special routes)

Fixed and flat rates

For certain routes (e.g., airport transfers) we offer fixed prices on request. These are agreed bindingly before the trip and differ from the taximeter price. The lower price applies.

Additional costs

The following additional costs may apply:

Toll fees (passed on)
Cleaning costs in case of soiling: from €50
Fee for forgotten items: €15 processing fee
No-show fee for non-appearance: see section 6

4. Payment terms

Payment methods

Payment is due immediately after the ride. The following payment methods are accepted:

Cash in euros
EC card (Girocard) with PIN
Credit card (all accepted)
Contactless payment (NFC, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
Invoice (business customers with framework agreement only)
Vouchers and taxi coupons (by prior arrangement)

Due date

The fare is due immediately after the ride. For invoice customers, the payment term is 14 days from the invoice date. In the event of late payment, interest of 9 percentage points above the base rate will be charged.

Receipt

Upon request, the passenger receives a proper receipt with all required details. For electronic payments, a receipt is generated automatically.

5. Passenger obligations

Behavior during the ride

The passenger is obliged to behave appropriately:

Seat belt obligation for all passengers
No smoking in the vehicle
No food or drinks without permission
No dangerous items
Respectful handling of driver and vehicle
Follow the driver’s instructions

Special luggage and animals

The following rules apply to special luggage and animals:

Luggage must be stowed securely
Oversized luggage must be announced in advance
Pets are generally allowed (small pets in carrier)
Large dogs require a muzzle and blanket
Assistance dogs are always welcome
The driver may refuse animals for hygiene reasons

Punctual arrival

For advance bookings, the passenger must be ready at the agreed pickup location at the agreed time. The driver typically waits 10 minutes free of charge. After that, waiting time may be charged according to the taximeter.

Correct information

The passenger is obliged to provide correct information regarding:

Pickup address with precise location details
Destination address and desired route
Number of passengers
Amount and type of luggage
Special requirements (child seat, wheelchair, etc.)

6. Cancellations and changes

Cancellation by passenger

Pre-booked rides can be cancelled free of charge:

Up to 24 hours before departure: free of charge
Up to 6 hours before departure: free of charge
Up to 2 hours before departure: 50% cancellation fee
Less than 2 hours before departure: 100% cancellation fee
No-show: 100% plus possible approach costs

Booking changes

Changes to pickup time, pickup location or other booking details are possible free of charge up to 2 hours before departure. Short-notice changes after this time may incur additional costs.

Cancellation by us

We reserve the right to cancel a booking:

In case of force majeure (severe weather, road closures, etc.)
In case of technical defects in our vehicles
In case of unreasonable demands or risk
In case of repeated misconduct by the passenger

Refunds

If we cancel, a full refund of any amounts paid will be made within 7 business days.

7. Liability and warranty

Our liability

We are liable according to the legal provisions of the Passenger Transport Act and BOKraft:

Unlimited for personal injury
For property damage according to compulsory insurance rules
For luggage up to a maximum of €1,000 per passenger
Not liable for hand luggage carried by the passenger
Unlimited in cases of intent and gross negligence

Exclusion of liability

Our liability is excluded for:

Slight negligence (except for personal injury)
Delays due to traffic, congestion or force majeure
Damage due to improperly packed luggage
Valuables if not specifically declared
Indirect and consequential damages
Missed flights, appointments or events

Insurance coverage

All our vehicles have the legally required insurance coverage in accordance with § 21 PBefG. In addition, there is extended business liability insurance.

Lost property

Items forgotten in the vehicle are kept for 4 weeks. Return is subject to a processing fee of €15. Perishable goods cannot be stored.

8. Data protection

Handling of personal data

The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process your data solely to provide the transport service and in accordance with GDPR.

Name and contact data for booking and communication
Pickup and destination to carry out the ride
Payment data for billing
Ride data for our documentation duty

9. Special conditions

Airport transfers

Special conditions apply for airport transfers:

Booking at least 24 hours in advance recommended
Flight number is required
Flight delays are taken into account free of charge up to 60 minutes
Pickup takes place in the arrivals area by arrangement
Waiting time for delays over 60 minutes is charged according to the taximeter
Fixed prices on request for standard routes

Group rides and events

For group rides and event services:

Timely registration required (at least 48 hours)
Provision of large vehicles subject to availability
Special conditions for regular bookings
Waiting times during events by arrangement
Flat rates for round trips possible

Medical rides

For medical rides with a doctor’s prescription:

Direct billing with health insurance possible
Transport of wheelchair users in special vehicles
Assistance with boarding and exiting
Accompaniment to medical appointments upon request
Special consideration of health limitations

10. Final provisions

Severability clause

If individual provisions of these terms are or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the economic purpose of the invalid provision.

Applicable law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies exclusively. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded. Jurisdiction is Bamberg, provided the customer is a merchant, legal entity under public law or special fund under public law.

Dispute resolution

We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/

Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. The current version is available on our website. Existing customers will be informed in good time about significant changes. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Important note

These terms are part of every transport contract with bambergtaxi. By booking a ride you accept these conditions. Additionally, the legal provisions of the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG) and the local taxi tariff regulations of the City of Bamberg apply.
